About the brand: Dating all the way back to 1833, LeCoultre was founded in Vallée de Joux, Switzerland and rapidly became one of the largest producers of watch calibers, even producing movement blanks for the likes of Patek Philippe in the early 20th century. Following an exclusive contract between LeCoultre, Cartier, and French inventor Edmond Jaeger to produce slim pocket watch calibers for Cartier, LeCoultre and Jaeger teamed up in 1937 to form Jaeger-LeCoultre. Up until 1985 - Tariff restrictions caused all models meant for the American market to be produced as LeCoultre models. Today, Jaeger-LeCoultre is still one of the finest Swiss watchmakers ever and produces elegant and masterfully made watches.
