Founded in 1853 by Charles-Félicien Tissot and his son Charles-Émile in Le Locle, Switzerland, Tissot has remained at its original location to this day. The company made a significant impact at its inception by introducing the first pocket watch with two time zones and the first mass-produced pocket watch. Tissot joined The Swatch Group Ltd in 1983 and continued to break traditional boundaries throughout the 1980s and 90s. They pioneered the use of unconventional materials, creating the first watch made of stone, the RockWatch, in 1985, and introducing the use of wood in watchmaking in 1988. Tissot's consistent innovation has secured its reputation as a leader in the watchmaking industry.
