Founded in New York City in 1837 as a "stationery and fancy goods emporium," Tiffany & Co. (initially Tiffany, Young & Ellis) started selling watches in 1847. The iconic Atlas Clock, first installed above Tiffany’s Broadway store in 1853, became a landmark and a public time-checking spot in New York City. The clock moved with the store, first to Union Square in 1870, then to Fifth Avenue in 1905, and to its flagship location at 727 Fifth Avenue in 1940. This clock inspired the Atlas wristwatch collection in the 1980s, which features Roman numeral motifs and later expanded into a full collection for both men and women. Read more ⇢
