Benrus

Benrus was founded in 1921 in New York City by Benjamin Lazrus and his brothers. The name “Benrus” combines Benjamin’s first name with the family surname. The company began by importing Swiss movements and casing them domestically, operating out of the Hippodrome building in New York’s jewelry district. Through the mid-20th century, Benrus became one of the most recognizable American watch brands, producing watches that balanced Swiss movement sourcing with designs aimed at the U.S. market, including military, sport, and dress styles.
