About the brand: Founded in Ohio - Gruen was one of the largest American watch manufacturers for the greater part of the 20th century. In fact, shortly after their relocation to Cincinnati, Gruen became the number one selling watch brand in the US. Like many brands - their factory in Time Hill ceased production of wristwatches and produced contracted military watches for the US Military in WW2. After the war, the flood of Swiss import watches had a disastrous effect on Gruen, and the brand ultimately closed its doors in 1977. Today, their wonderful line of vintage watches such as the Airflight, and Curvex models are all that remains of this once great brand.
- Overall Condition: Fair, overall condition for its age.
- Functions: Running, but may be in need of service. This means, it can run unreliably, start or stop and timekeeping is not guaranteed. Gaining 114 seconds a day with a 199 amplitude and a 3.6ms beat error.
- Case: There are scratches on the case.
- Crystal: There are scratches on the crystal.
- Dial: The dial has scratches and discoloration.
- Band: The band is not original.
